The Banner Saga 2 is the sequel to the award-winning role-playing game of 2014. This second instalment follows the formula of the first, featuring hand-drawn animation, turn-based combat and a rich story, while improving the overall experience.

Despite generally positive reactions, the first Banner Saga received criticism for an overall lack of completion. Players were disappointed in the length and the combat, wishing for a more robust game. The Banner Saga 2 answers all these issues. Players embark on a new quest after the events of the first, forming a party of semi-mythological characters inspired by Norse tradition. Each character has their own abilities and actions in battle, complimenting the rich story with well-developed personalities. Some of the best moments in the game are due to the gorgeous hand-drawn animations and world class music score which combine to build a world that feels real and dangerous. Outside of battle, the struggle continues with players tasked with maintaining supplies in their caravan.
